About the Major

Mathematics is a university-level field that studies numbers, structures, patterns, and relationships using logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. As a major, it includes topics like algebra, calculus, statistics, geometry, and discrete mathematics. Mathematics students learn to model real-world problems, analyze data, and develop abstract thinking. The field develops critical thinking, precision, and analytical skills that are highly valued in science, engineering, finance, technology, and research. Studying mathematics also prepares graduates for careers in academia, data analysis, cryptography, and applied sciences. It is a foundation for many advanced fields and innovation in both theoretical and practical applications.
